THIS BEACH CRAZY
BYRON BAY 2012-2017
I’ve always appreciated how art can be a way to document time. The beach was a perfect setting for the next act in my play. For some it’s a place where people gather stripped down immersed in a hedonistically natural playground; for others it’s where human existence stops at the edge of the map. The clear divide of what is and what isn’t perfectly highlighted by the harshly lit figures dotting the horizon. For these works I stripped down this amazingly colorful place into a monotone interpretation while still maintaining the vibrance of life and the solitude of internalism.
